Why are my videos on TikTok getting low views even when people are sharing them a lot?

I made a new TikTok account and tested it for about a week. One video suddenly hit around 310K views in a single day. After that, the next 8–12 videos in a similar style all did pretty well too, usually getting 45K+ views within a day.

But in the last 3–5 days, things changed a lot. Now my videos are maxing out around 2.5K views, and most stop at about 1K to 1.6K. I’ve been posting twice a day (a third post usually gets almost no views), mostly around 7–9pm and 9–11pm EST. I’ve been doing this for about 3 weeks total.

I know engagement matters a lot, and here are some of my stats:

~345K views – about 24K shares (around 7% share rate) – ~8 sec watch time (3-photo slideshow) – about 2.5/3 photos viewed
~71K views – ~3.5K shares (about 5% share rate) – ~6 sec watch time (3-photo slideshow) – about 2.4/3 photos viewed
~65K views – ~5.5K shares (around 8% share rate) – ~7 sec watch time (3-photo

My other videos are still getting around a 3.5–4.5% share rate, similar watch time, and about 2.2–2.4 out of 3 photos viewed. That’s all a bit lower than before, but I don’t get how it still isn’t even reaching 10K views. I’ve seen people say a 2% share rate is already “viral,” so I’m confused why mine aren’t taking off.
I’ll keep trying new styles (even though I can only post about 2 times a day on TikTok) and testing different posting times. But it feels like:

The app already knows my audience since I’ve hit close to 1M total views in the last few weeks on a new account

Maybe it’s not pushing my posts to that same audience anymore, or it’s testing new groups

The bar for engagement might be way higher now than before (I had another account that got a few million views per video with weaker stats than these)

What do you all think is going on? What could be causing this?
All my content is original, nothing reposted. The only thing I do is edit my photos in Photoshop and export them as separate images like 1.png, 2.png, 3.png—but it feels unlikely that alone would tank views this much.

It sounds like the usual boost on a new account is gone now, which happens a lot. At first, TikTok shows your videos to more people to test them out, then later it slows things down to see if your content still performs well over time.
To be honest, I made the account back in April and had a video hit around 380K views then. After that I didn’t post anything for about 3–4 months. Then in October it started doing well again, so I’m not totally sure that explains it, but maybe it does.

It’s still making some money, so I’ll keep posting and testing new styles, but it’s a bit frustrating.

If you look at the share rates, I don’t really think we can say the views are low.
